Game 1:

The Dundee Junior Varsity Vikings cruised to an 8-0 victory over the Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves on Thursday, thanks in large part to a six-run rally in the fifth inning.

Dundee got on the board in the bottom of the third inning, using a pair of singles to take an early lead. The offense broke the game wide open in the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits to extend their lead and put the game out of reach.

Clinton’s Daejaun Garrison was charged with the loss. The right-hander pitched four innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three.

Roman Roberts, Kolton Pruss, and Wyatt Cooley each recorded a hit for the Redwolves, who also turned a double play on defense during the game.

Game 2:

In a back-and-forth battle that came down to the final play, the Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves pulled off a dramatic 9-8 walk-off win over the Dundee Junior Varsity Vikings in Game 2 on Thursday at Dundee.

With the score tied at eight in the bottom of the fifth inning, Wyatt Cooley executed a perfect squeeze bunt to bring home Kyler Pawlowski for the game-winning run, capping off a wild contest filled with momentum swings.

Clinton's Caleb Ernst had a standout performance at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with singles in the first, second, and third innings. Roman Roberts also played a key role offensively, driving in three runs, including a two-run single during Clinton's five-run rally in the first inning. That inning flipped the script after Dundee had jumped out to an early 4-0 lead.

The Redwolves added two more runs in the second, highlighted by another RBI single from Roberts, to extend the lead to 7-4. Dundee battled back to tie the game in the third, and after Clinton regained an 8-7 advantage in the bottom half, a defensive error in the fourth allowed Dundee to even things up once more.

Ernst not only contributed at the plate but also earned the win on the mound. The right-hander threw 1.2 scoreless innings in relief, striking out two without allowing a hit or walk. Ayden McConnell started the game for Clinton, with Kolton Pruss also seeing time out of the bullpen.

Clinton racked up 10 hits in the game, with Pawlowski collecting two and Roberts finishing 2-for-3. The Redwolves were aggressive on the bases, swiping eight bags in total, with multiple steals coming from both Daejaun Garrison and Ernst.
