Game 1:

Daejaun Garrison showcased excellent plate discipline on Monday, drawing three walks to help lead the Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves to a hard-fought 12–10 victory over Blissfield.

Clinton jumped out to a commanding 9-run lead by the fifth inning, but had to withstand a late surge from Blissfield. The opposition clawed back into the game with a string of scoring plays that included a double, two singles, and a pair of groundouts.

The Redwolves set the tone early in the top of the first inning. Cyle Mcleod laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring in the game’s first run, followed by an RBI single from Zack Andrews. A bases-loaded walk by Lucas Coughlin and a clutch three-run double from Kyler Pawlowski capped off a big opening frame.

Kolton Pruss added to the scoring in the third inning with a well-placed single down the right field line.

Andrews picked up the win on the mound for Clinton, allowing just three hits and two runs over four innings while striking out nine and walking two. Relief duties were shared by Brock Worden and Wyatt Cooley. Another Clinton pitcher came in for three and one-third innings, giving up nine runs on seven hits with five walks and two strikeouts.

Offensively, Pawlowski made the most of his opportunities from the nine spot in the lineup, driving in three runs on a 1-for-2 day at the plate. Pruss went a perfect 2-for-2 to lead the team in hits.

Clinton showed great patience at the plate, working a total of 13 walks. Garrison and Worden each drew three free passes. Defensively, the Redwolves were flawless, committing no errors. Coughlin anchored the defense with a team-high 10 chances in the field.

Game 2:

The Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves pulled off an impressive comeback on Monday, edging out Blissfield 6–5 after taking the lead late in the game. With the score tied at five in the bottom of the fourth, Wyatt Cooley came through in the clutch with a go-ahead RBI single that sealed the win.

Clinton had to dig deep after falling behind 5–1 in the third inning, but rallied to tie the game in the bottom half of the frame. The comeback was sparked by a sacrifice bunt from Caleb Ernst, an RBI single by Kolton Pruss, and a defensive error by Blissfield that brought in the tying run.

Cyle Mcleod earned the win on the mound, delivering three scoreless innings in relief. The right-hander allowed just one hit, struck out three, and walked two. Ayden McConnell got the start and went three innings, giving up five runs—only one of them earned—on a single hit while striking out three and walking two.

Ernst provided a spark in the middle of the lineup, driving in two runs to lead the Redwolves in RBIs. Cooley had a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-3 to pace Clinton in hits.

With momentum on their side, the Clinton JV Redwolves now look ahead to their next matchup on Thursday, when they hit the road to take on the Dundee Junior Varsity Vikings.
