Clinton JV Baseball Picks Up Two Big Wins Early in the Season

In game one, Caleb Ernst was dominant on the bump, as the righty rang up 10 strikeouts in Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves's 4-1 victory over St. Mary Catholic Central on Thursday. Ernst allowed three hits and one run over seven innings while walking two. Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves got on the board in the top of the third inning after Daejaun Garrison doubled to center field, Wyatt Cooley grounded out, and Ernst grounded out, each scoring one run. Cyle Mcleod, Brock Worden, and Garrison each collected one hit for Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves. Cooley, Garrison, and Ernst each drove in one run for Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves. Worden stole five bases. Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves stole seven bases in the game.

 

In game two, Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves were triumphant over St. Mary Catholic Central 6-3. Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kolton Pruss doubled, scoring two runs, Cyle Mcleod grounded out, scoring one run, and Ayden McConnell grounded out, scoring one run. Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves added two runs in the second after Zack Andrews grounded out. Mcleod earned the win for Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves. The hurler surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Andrews pitched one and two-thirds innings of no-run ball for Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none. Wyatt Cooley and Daejaun Garrison were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves. Pruss drove the middle of the lineup, leading Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Kyler Pawlowski led Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Garrison stole two bases. Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves welcome Pinckney on Monday for their next game.
