The Clinton Varsity Football team opened its 2020 season with a 49-28 win over LCAA rival Ida Friday night. 

Brayden Randolph led the charge on offense, with 112 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns. Bradyn Lehman followed with 106 yards on 11 carries, including a 52 yard TD scamper. Jack Voll notched 91 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns, while Davey Campbell added 49 rushing yards on six carries and a score. Sophomore Zak Shadley scored his first varsity touchdown in the second half. 

Defensively, Randolph and Campbell led with 13 tackles each, while Tyler Bowles added 11. Ridge Ahrens grabbed a first-quarter interception that swung the momentum to the Redskins and finished with six tackles. Ahrens added two kickoff returns for 50 yards, while Lehman returned two punts for 41 yards. 

Kicker Jonathan Baughey was 7 for 7 on extra points, and had one successful onside kick. 

The offensive line composed of Bowles, Will Felts, Brandon Felts, Luke Knight, and Ryan Phillips helped Clinton notch 400 rushing yards on the evening. 

Clinton will host LCAA foe Columbia Central at home Friday night.
