Varsity Baseball Defeats #8 Columbia Central

Clinton Varsity Baseball opened the 2025 spring season with a victory over #8 ranked Columbia Central 3-2. The game was tied at two a piece in the bottom of the seventh when Quinn Walden singled, scoring Calen Keith from third, as Clinton grabbed the victory in a walk-off fashion.
The pitching was strong on both sides. The Redwolves pitchers Walden and Jalen Stelzer struck out 12, while Columbia Central sat down 12.
Stelzer earned the win for Clinton. The reliever gave up zero hits and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking one. Nik Wilding took the loss for Columbia Central. The reliever went two innings, allowing one run, on one hit, striking out four and walking none. Walden began the game for Clinton Varsity Redwolves. The pitcher gave up three hits and two runs, over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three. Conner Rentfrow started on the hill for Columbia Central. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Walden and Dacari Garrison were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Clinton. The Redwolves turned one double play in the game and played good sound defense committing just 1 error.
Game 2 was shortened due to darkness as Columbia won the 5 inning affair by a score of 5-2. The Redwolves were held to just 2 hits by Andy Fair and Tanner Bolton .
Next up the Redwolves Varsity Team travels to Blissfield on Tuesday April 8 for an LCAA double header. 4pm start.
