Clinton traveled to Schoolcraft College in Livonia for their last tournament of the year. Clinton came out and play well at times and had some offensive struggles at others. They took games from Ypsi Lincoln and Kalamazoo Christian before taking two games from Clarenville. They went 4-2 in pool play and were seated 7th place out of 20 teams in the large tournament. Clinton faced Farmington in the quarterfinals where they lost in two 13-25 and 15-25. However, Clinton was quicker and more vocal than they have been which is a win!
Leading the tournament with points was Libbi Fair with 23 points 17 digs, and 14 serve receive passes. Followed by Ashlyn Schmidt had 16 points, 24 passes, 28 and serve receive passes. Jaecy Jones was also holding down the back row with 24 digs, 16 points, and 17 serve receive passes. Tess Woerner had a day all around with 21 digs, 15 points, 16 serve receive passes, 2 blocks, and 15 kills. Megyn Arntz led the team with 21 kills, 13 blocks, and .245% hitting. Samantha Renaldi held it down on the court too with 25 digs, 14 points, 12 kills, and 29 serve receive passes. Lena Korte and Josliyn Schanz had 7 kills (Lena) 3 (Josilyn) and 5 blocks each. Karlee Szczesniak led the teams offense with 5 kills, 50 assists, 2 blocks, 10 points, and 3 digs. Clinton had a 94% serving percent as a team and .200 hitting percent as a team. Growth is happening daily and we are excited for the next two weeks!
Clinton travels to TCC rival Adrian Madison on Tuesday to wrap up their regular season before meeting Manchester for first round of Districts. Clinton is 19-18-4 on the season. Come and cheer them on Tuesday at Madison High School.
