Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Multiple Opponents

Clinton Volleyball traveled to Concord for their Pink Out Invitational. Clinton came out strong with a strong offense and great defense. They rallied to go 6-0 in pool play beating Burr Oak 25-21, 25-20 then Concord 25-16, 25-16 and then Hillsdale Academy 25-16, 25-17. They came out of pool play undefeated and the top seed in the tournament. They then took on Jonesville and lost in two sets to them 22-25 and then 21-25.
Stats on the day include an overall team serving percent at 92.19% close to our team goal! Megyn Artnz led in kills with 17 and had 14 blocks! Brianna Burton had 15 kills, while Tess Woerner had 11 kills, 4 blocks, 9 digs, and 11 points. Lindsey Burton had 7 kills and 5 blocks while Saydie Starnes had 11 kills, 6 blocks, 9 digs, and 12 points. Sam Renaldi had 7 kills, 6 digs, and a block. Breece Phillips had 19 digs, 31 good serve receive passes while Rilee Szczesniak had 29 digs, 26 good serve receive, and 20 points. Payton Blaze had 33 digs, 53 good serve receive, and 24 points. Setting up for our kills were Ali Elwart 36 assists, 21 digs, and 32points while Karlee Szczesniak had 20 assists, 8 digs, and 17 points. As a team Clinton had 41 aces on the day and Ali Elwart was again 100% on serving for the day!
Overall, it was a great day to be in the gym competing as a team. Clinton is 14-16-3 on the season and takes on Madison at home this Tuesday, October 9th at 5:00 for JV and Varsity immediately following. This game is the PINK OUT game to support our local Hickman Foundation. Come buy a t-shirt, snacks, 50/50, and put in for a basket!
