Clinton Varsity Volleyball traveled to SchoolCraft College for the Brighton High School Tournament on Saturday.  During pool play Clinton was 1-5.  Clinton fought hard and played positions that weren't their "home" spot because of injury and illness.  However, had many takeaways from the day.  They Split with Lapeer 25-15 then 7-25.  Lost to Hartland 17-25 and 14-25. Their last pool play game was Riverview Gabriel Richard which they lost 17-25 then 26-27.

Overall stats on the day were: Samantha Renaldi with 15 kills and 11 serving points, followed by Megyn Artnz with 11 kills and 10 blocks. Lindsey Burton had 10 kills and 3 blocks. Ali Elwart had 34 assists 29 digs, and 33 points. Brianna Burton had 6 kills and 1 block.  Payton Blaze 30 digs, 5 points, and 49 serve receive passes.  Rilee Szczesniak hd 27 digs and 13 serve receive passes. Brecee Phillips 43 serve receive passes and 26 digs.  Rounding out the day were Karlee Szczesniak with 10 assists, 10 digs, and 8 points and Saydie Starnes was able to make it to the last tournament game with 1 kill, 4 digs, and 1 point.

Takeaways from the day included working on strong and more accurate serving, transitions, and working on overall defense. Coach Loftis also stated, "As a team we need to be more consistent and vocal on the court in order to push us to finish and win games that we are in.    Clinton's next match will be Tuesday, September 6 in Concord at 5:00pm
