Clinton took to the hardwood against a tough non conference matchup vs Blissfield on Friday night. Although they lost 46 - 80, the score was not indicative of the exciting and at times up and down fast paced game it turned out to be. Led by senior Fortney who went to work with 21 hard fought points.  After getting off to a slow start in the first quarter, Clinton stepped up the intensity in the second quarter nearly tripling their point total from the first quarter. Defensively, Clinton had a much stronger effort in the paint, led by Tommy Burt who finished with a team high 8 rebounds and forced tough shots for Blissfield in what showed to be the heart of their offense; their post play. Blissfield exploited their size advantage around the rim with a number of put backs and second shot attempts and limited Clinton’s second chance opportunities. Clinton countered with a swarming backcourt defense that contributed to 8 team steals and fast break opportunities. Clinton showed their resilience keeping the remaining 3 quarters competitive but in the end couldn’t overcome their first quarter deficit.
