WHITMORE LAKE HIGH SCHOOL: 56
The Clinton Redskins took on the Whitmore Lake Trojans on Friday night, scoring a season-high in points, winning 82-56. After a high-scoring first quarter that saw the Redskins leading 21-18, Clinton's defense began to tighten up some, only giving up three field goals in the 2nd quarter, while outscoring their opponents 25-13 in the frame.
"It was definitely nice to get some confidence going on the offensive end. We got off to a rough start defensively, but then we settled in and started to play okay. We understand in a fast-paced game, as this was, we are going to give up a few more points than we would like," Coach Jordan Kelly said. "I really liked the way we attacked the basket on the offensive end. We thought we could get some good looks if we didn't settle, or at least get to the FT line, which we did. We just have to do a better job of knocking those in."
Clinton had seven players score at least 8 points. Robbie Campbell led the way with 16, Justin Felts had a double-double with 14points and 10 rebounds. Clark Nelson added 13 points, while Collin Stapnowski, Steven Fortney, and Keegan Degner all had 9 points. Mitchell Drabicki tacked on 8 points.
Overall record: 4-7 (3-4 TCC)
