The Clinton Redskins took on the first place Whiteford Bobcats last night, and came out on the losing end, 72-53. The first quarter saw a fast-paced, high scoring game as the visitors led at the end of one, 22-19. The game got away from the Redskins in the 3rd quarter, getting outscored 20-9 in the frame.

"I thought we played very hard, and executed everything we wanted to do with the exception of transition defense and taking care of the ball. We held their two leading scorers to 15 points combined, but they had two other guys step up and score 21 and 17," Coach Jordan Kelly stated.

Clinton played great defense on Whiteford leading scorers Cameron Iott (21ppg) and Jared Fink (17ppg), holding them to 5 and 10 points, respectively. 

"In the first half, they just made everything they looked at. They are a great offensive team with a lot of guards that can really score. In the 3rd, we just got a little rattled, turned it over a few times in a row, forced some shots, and didn't get back on defense that led to lay-ups for them."

Leading the way for Clinton was Clark Nelson, who registered a double-double, with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Justin Felts added 11 points and 6 rebounds, Steven Fortney tacked on 10 points.

The Redskins look to rebound quickly as they travel to Sand Creek on Thursday, in another TCC showdown.
