The Redskins had their home opener last night against the Blissfield Royals, and came away with a 56-33 win. 

Clinton jumped out to a 13-0 lead to start the game, and never trailed in the contest. Blissfield fought back in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 3 before Robbie Campbell hit a 3 at the buzzer to put the Redskins up 6 at the half. 

"We couldn't have asked for a better start than we had, especially after a tough loss on Monday," Coach Jordan Kelly. "The guys were fired up, and the crowd certainly helped with it being our home opener."

Great defense was on display by the Redskins in the 2nd half as the Royals scored 14 points in the 2nd half. "Our defense was pretty good tonight, it was definitely a team effort. We did a good job of pressuring, even in the 1/2 court defense. The pressure led to some easy baskets early, and it carried over the rest of the night," Kelly stated. "The defense starts with the mindset we have, Clay and Robbie play so hard on D, it is contagious and turns into a total team effort."

As a team, the Redskins were also on fire on the offensive end, shooting 57% from the floor, including 9/13 (69%) from 3-pt range.

Campbell led the way with 19 points. 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Clark Nelson had 10 rebounds to go along with 7 points. Steven Fortney had 8 points. Justin Felts had 6 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Clay Langer tacked on 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Clinton is back in action Thursday, Dec. 14th, in the TCC opener against Summerfield at home.
