An amazing game last night where our girls came out with a determination like no other. Although an outstanding effort was displayed by the girls we came up short against Sand Creek in the opening round of districts. Clinton was lead by their three Seniors Sam Renaldi, Rory Kelly and Emily Evers. Those three young athletes set the tone for others to follow. Their hard work and dedication to Clinton basketball was above and beyond. Their team first attitude and excellent character lead all three to be named captains for this years team. Just another great representation of what a Clinton Athlete looks like. Clinton also had contributions from Bri Underwood who hit a half court buzzer beater to cut the deficit down to 9 at halftime. Libbi Fair and Brynn Frederick lead the guards offensive attack while Lena Korte defended the paint causing multiple deflections throughout the game. Bre Ramos made her presence felt with physical defense and aggressive rebounding leading to scoring opportunities. Chloe Houghton disrupted Sand Creeks offensive flow in the 4th quarter resulting in multiple empty possessions. Eliana Dotson and Emily Gilroy caused havoc on the boards grabbing multiple offensive rebounds and put backs. Chloe and Eliana both sacrificed late minutes so their freshmen teammates, Ruby Sierer and Cassie McNatt who received district callups could have an opportunity to get into a varsity contest. Excellent character by the upper classmen, thank you to all the girls for their constant work ethic and high integrity throughout the season. To all ours fans, your support never went unnoticed and it was always appreciated and welcomed. We are an athletic family no matter what sport we play, together we all get 1% better everyday.
