Boys Junior Varsity Basketball
Friday 1/10/2020 @ 5:30 PM(H) vs Ida High School
|Clinton High School||38|
|Ida High School||57|
GAME SUMMARYOn paper, the Ida Bluestreeks JV looked like they should have very little to worry about Friday night at Clinton. Sporting a 6-0 record and being taller at just about every position than the Redskins by 2-3 inches, the Redskin JV team had their hands full. They were up for the challenge for three quarters before Ida imposed their will in the final frame. After racing out to an early lead, Ida quickly responded to take a lead of their own and finished the first quarter up 15-7. Clinton was able to cut into that defecit by outscoring the Bluestreeks 15-13 in the second quarter to go in halftime down just 6. An exciting back and forth third quarter ultimately saw Ida start to pull away late to go in the fourth quarter up 10. Although the Clinton JV team tried to make one more push to close the gap, Ida was just too much under the basket. In the end, the Redskins fell to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the TCC, while Ida ran their record to 7-0 and remain perfect in the early part of the season. Landon Busz led Clinton with 13 points, while Derek Tomolak, and Grand Stockford each added 8 points apiece. Stockford also finished as the leading rebounder for Clinton with 6 rebounds. Clinton will now have a week off before playing next Thursday at Sand Creek in a boy/girl JV double header. The JV boys will play at 5:30 with the JV girls at 7:00 PM. On Friday, the varsity girls will play at Sand Creek at 5:30 with the varsity boys set to tip at 7:00 PM.
