Football Moves to 5-0

Clinton traveled to Hillsdale on Friday, Sept. 25th for an LCAA contest. The Redwolves defeated the Hornets 50-6. The score was opened in the first quarter with a 32 yard pass to Bronson Whelan for a touchdown from Gradyn Whelan. The two point conversion was converted by Jacob Pope from a Gradyn Whelan pass. Gradyn Whelan took it himself to score on a 2 yard run for the game's second score. The two point conversion was stopped. Clinton scored again with a Bronson Whelan run from 13 yards out followed by a Gradyn Whelan run for the two point conversion. At the end of the first quarter Clinton was up 22-0 over Hillsdale. In the second quarter Dacari Garrison caught a 30 yard pass from Gradyn Whelan for a touchdown. Jaxsen Speth converted the extra point kick. Gradyn Whelan found Jacob Pope for another score, this time for a touchdown from 10 yards out. Jaxsen Speth secured the extra point kick. Going into halftime Clinton was up 36-0 over Hillsdale. In the third quarter Hillsdale found the end zone from 54 yards out, but their extra point attempt was stopped. Gradyn Whelan punched another run in from 3 yards out for a touchdown and Jaxen Speth put another kick through the uprights for the extra point kick. In the fourth quarter Bronson Whelan caught a 12 yard pass from Gradyn Whelan for the touchdown. Jaxen Speth kicked the extra point to make the final score, Clinton 50 Hillsdale 6. Clinton rushed for 334 yards on 29 attempts and was 9 for 12 passing for 167 more yards, for 501 yards of offense. The leading rusher was Braxton Randolph with 97 yards on 6 attempts. Dacari Garrison had 52 yards on 3 attempts. Jaxon Phillip picked up 52 yards on 3 attempts as well. Gradyn Whelan had 47 yards on 5 attempts with two touchdowns. He also threw for 167 yards on 9 of 12 passing for 4 more touchdowns. Jake Halchishak had 23 yards on 4 attempts, Grant Talaga had two carries for 26 yards, Brayden Lauer had 17 yards on 3 carries. Bronson Whelan had 13 yards on 1 carry and a touchdown. Brady Alhers picked up 7 yards on 2 carries. Receiving leader was Dacari Garrison with 4 reception for 87 yards and a touchdown. Bronson Whelan had two catches for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Jake Halchishak had two catches for 26 yards, and Jacob Pope had a catch for a 10 yard touchdown. Pancake blocks were by Roman Roberts with 5, Owen Wright with 4, Grant Kutzley with 2, and Zander Urban and Braxton Randolph with one each. Defensively Leading tacklers were Braxton Randolph with 5.5 tackles and a tackle for a loss, Jaxon Phillip with 4 tackles, Paul Blanchard, Jacob Pope(2 tackles for a loss), Daejaun Garrison, Jake Halchishak, Dacari Garrison, and Gradyn Whelan(one tackle for a loss) with 3 tackles a piece. Others with tackles were: Royce Martinez with a sack and a tackle for a loss. Aiden Simpson, Bronson Whelan, Brody Wenn, Owen Wright (tackle for a loss), Roman Roberts, Lucas Coughlin, and Zander Urban. Paul Blanchard had a fumble recovery as well. Clinton travels to Hudson for its next LCAA game.
