Clinton traveled to Jackson Northwest to play two tough games, coming out ahead 4-2 and 14-4. Kendall Phillip was the winning pitcher in game 1, throwing her best game this season. Allowing just 7 hits in a 7 inning game with 15 strikeouts and 3 walks. She allowed 0 earned runs. Offense struggled a bit to get started, but with key hits, Clinton was able to earn 4 runs. Taryn Hernandez led with 2 singles and 2 RBI, Phillip added a single with 2 RBI. Annabell Preston was on fire going 3-4 with a lead off triple. Game 2 was won by Taryn Hernandez going all 5 innings in the mercy rule win. Despite the Mounties scoring 2 in the first, Hernandez gathered her composure and got it done. She finished allowing 8 hits with 6 strikeouts. Hernandez%u2019s bat also led the way, going 3-4 with a double and 4 RBI. Phillip finished 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Preston was 2-3 and Lola Szczesniak added a 2-RBI double to the mix. Kylinn Long added an RBI single. Clinton will take the weekend off and returns on Tuesday. They are 17-3 overall.
