The Clinton Middle School Cross Country program has accumulated 72 team trophies and 899 individual medals over the last 9 seasons.  “The success of the program is a direct result of the time and effort kids are willing to put forth,” said Coach Delezenne.  Runners accumulated approximately 188 miles during the 2025 campaign.  

  The 2025 team had 32 runners and earned 14 trophies and 130 medals.  The returning runners were motivated to improve on last season. Both teams were competitive and thrived on the success of one another.  Overall, it was a very successful season.

The boys team won the LCAA Championship and finished top 2 in 9 races while earning runner-up in the Class C/D Division of the MHSAA Regional.  The team consisted of Owen Claus, Grant Goodman, Kayden Rubio, Max Blom, Kane Darmis, Max Morgan, Abram Thompson, Vincent Carruba, Owen LeBlanc, Ryan Lighthall, Camden Meikle, Lucas Snyder, Blake Dutton, Cole Houghton, Maverick Miller, Ethan Rejc, Brayden Rubio, Elijah Sierer, Everest Thompson, Zachary Wellday and Samuel Berzkalns (mgr) rounded out the boys team.

The girls team won 7 races including the County Championship while earning 3rd place in the Class C/D Division of the MHSAA Regional.  The team consisted of Maria Hessling, Henley Wright, Olivia Grzebik, Alyson Gallup, Emma Blom, Natalie Blom, Laura Ruesink, Tori Piskorowski, Olivia Gibson, Azalea Naugle, Ella Schaffner, Hailey Wegman and Tessa Ruesink (mgr) rounded out the girls team.  

Runners earning one medal or more this season - Max Blom, Owen Claus, Kane Darmis, Grant Goodman, Max Morgan, Kayden Rubio, Abram Thompson, Owen LeBlanc, Lucas Snyder, Blake Dutton, Maverick Miller, Ethan Rejc, Brayden Rubio, Elijah Sierer, Olivia Grzebik, Maria Hessling, Henley Wright, Emma Blom, Natalie Blom, Laura Ruesink, Tori Piskorowski, Olivia Gibson, Azalea Naugle, Ella Schaffner, Hailey Wegman and Tessa Ruesink.

The boys and girls record board changed quite a bit this year.  Average race pace is used to determine times.  

8th grade record set this year - Owen Claus 11:18 (2nd).

6th grade records set this year - Elijah Sierer 12:48 (4th), Laura Ruesink 12:50 (1st), and Olivia Gibson 13:40 (2nd).

The middle school program will graduate Alyson Gallup, Olivia Grzebik, Maria Hessling, Henley Wright, Max Blom, Owen Claus, Kane Darmis, Grant Goodman, Max Morgan, Kayden Rubio, and Abram Thompson.

Not participating in a school sport during October and November?  Any 5th-8th grader can join CMS Polar Bear Club.  It begins Tuesday, October 21.

At Madison, Clinton MSXC teams finished runner-up at the LCAA jamboree.

Laura Ruesink (2), Henley Wright (7), Emma Blom (10), Olivia Gibson (11), and Hailey Wegman (24) rounded out the scoring for the girls team.

Owen Claus (1), Elijah Sierer (9), Grant Goodman (13), Kayden Rubio (16), and Max Blom (19) rounded out the scoring for the boys team.

The following runners earned a personal record - Owen Claus, Kane Darmis, Max Morgan, Vincent Carruba, Lucas Snyder, Blake Dutton, Cole Houghton, Brayden Rubio, Elijah Sierer, Maria Hessling, Emma Blom, Natalie Blom, Olivia Gibson, Tori Piskorowski, Laura Ruesink, Ella Schaffner, and Hailey Wegman.

The following runners earned a season record - Grant Goodman, Kayden Rubio, Camden Meikle, and Henley Wright.

The Clinton Middle School Cross Country program will look to continue its competitiveness in 2025.  The 2024 campaign was successful in which the program captured 10 trophies/plaques and 115 medals. The Redwolves opened their season with a runner-up finish at the Jet Jam Relays on Wednesday, September 3 at Airport.  “The kids have been working really hard to get ready for the race season.  This group has logged many miles this summer and they are very excited for the start of the 2025 campaign.”

The girls team will look to build on the successes from 2024 with an influx of talented new runners.  The team will return the following runners: Henley Wright, Olivia Grzebik, and Alyson Gallup. Newcomers to the girls team include Maria Hessling, Emma Blom, Natalie Blom, Olivia Gibson, Azalea Naugle, Tori Piskorowski, Laura Ruesink, Ella Schaffner, Hailey Wegman, and Tessa Ruesink (mgr).

The boys team will return 12 runners from last season which earned 7 trophies/plaques.  The team will return the following runners:  Max Blom, Owen Claus, Kane Darmis, Grant Goodman, Max Morgan, Kayden Rubio, Lucas Snyder, Ryan Lighthall, Owen LeBlanc, Vincent Carruba, Camden Meikle, and Abram Thompson.  Newcomers to the boys team include Blake Dutton, Cole Houghton, Maverick Miller, Ethan Rejc, Brayden Rubio, Elijah Sierer, Everest Thompson, Zachary Wellday and Samuel Berzkalns (mgr).
