Saturday 1/7/2020 CMS opened the season with a team title in Ohio. This was a individual event where team points are also scored. As a team we scored 253.50 points. Second place with 233 was Delta Ohio and third was Fremont Ross with186.5. This was a huge event that had people asking where Clinton was located. I am super proud of how all of our Wrestlers not only wrestled but represented Clinton. Wrestlers that placed were, Connor Younts 2nd, Braylon Long 1st, Coy Perry 2nd, Dillon Badge 3rd, Maurice Ames 3rd, Blake Sloan 2nd, Nik Shadley 1st, Joey Preston 2nd, Jake Felts 3rd, Xavier Gibbs 3rd. Also competing Raven Aldridge, Wyatt Hicks, Hamza Rafferty, Jayden Rozsas, Gage Blackburn, Wyatt Federer, Aiden Weaver and helping support was Mary Coffey. Now I didn’t forget her, Faith Blackburn had a stand out day. During our seeding meeting Faith was entered in the 116 lb weight class and that weight class was full of wrestlers that were being scored. Clinton had four wrestlers in the 116 lb weight class and was asked if we could bump one wrestler up and one down. Faith was who I bumped up. Her seed wasn’t very good and she had to wrestle the #2 seed first. She ended up being a bracket buster and pinning the number two seed! A few matches later she ended up dropping a match by points to the wrestler who ended up second in that weight class. She than worked her way to the 3rd and 4th place match where she wrestled the #2 place seed who worked his way back. Again she ended up pinning him. I was not only pumped on how our team competed but Faith showed the direction this team is going.
