The wrestling team sent a record tying 13 wrestlers to the state finals at Ford Field March 6-7. The Redskins had the most qualifiers in division 4 for the individual portion of the state tournament and crown 5 champions. Brayden Randolph won his championship at 171 with a tech fall and 2 decisions. 189 Logan Badge advanced tot he final with a pin and injury default wins before securing a 7-1 win the final. George Ames at 135 won by oin and 13-2 before getting a pin at the 3:46 mark of his championship match to claim his title. AJ Baxter wrestled at 140 and won by pin and 3-0 before scoring a 10-2 major decision in the final for his title. Kent McCombs dominated his way through his bracket. He started the day with a pin and major decision before winning by tech fall over the division 4 #3 ranked wrestler 15-0. 2nd place finishers for the Redskins were Jack Voll at 215, Connor Busz at 103, and Zak Shadley 119. Spencer Konz at 160, Will Felts 285, Ethan Younts 112, and Landis Gillman all finished 3rd in there weight class. Chase Packard finished 4th at 112. Next up is the team state Finals this Friday, February 28-29 at Kalamazoo. Wrestling starts at noon Friday.
