Clinton varsity wrestling went 5-0 to win the all division 1 tournament Saturday. The day started with Waterford Kettering and a 57-18 win for the Redskins. In the second round It was Ypsilanti Lincoln who fell victim to the Number 1 ranked Redskins 78-6. Wyandotte Roosevelt was next in the 3rd round and the dual was back and forth for awhile but the Redskins pulled away in the end 43-21. In the semi-finals the Redskins had Southgate Anderson and won handily 75-6 setting up a rematch with Westland John Glenn from a year ago for the championship. The Redskins dropped a close one a year ago but this year it would be a different story. The dual; meet started at 135 where George Ames got the Redskins off to a fast start with a 9-1 major decision. AJ Baxter followed that up with a pin to get the Redskins out to a 10-0 lead. Westland answered with a pin and a win at the next 2 weights to close the score to 10-9. Spencer Konz and Brayden Randolph answered with back to back pins to make it 22-9. From there on out the 2 teams would trade pins to the final weight. Westland got pins at 285, 112, and 125 but it wasn't enough as Connor Busz at 112, Zac Shadley at 119, and Landis Gillman secured pins to give the Redskins the championship 46-33. Connor Busz, Landis Gillman, George Ames, AJ Baxter, Spencer Konz, and Brayden Randolph all went 5-0 for the day. Will Felts went 4-1. Ethan Younts, Zac Shadley, Chase Packard, and Kent McCombs went 3-2. Jack Voll was 2-0. The Team is at Home Friday night for a dual meet with Monroe-Jefferson before competing again at home Saturday in The Wittenbach Duals. Clinton is currently 7-0
