The CMS Girls’ team lost a close one to Madison 66-71. For field events, Brodie and Crysler placed 2nd and 3rd in Shot Put, Brandvold passed her PR by a foot (13’4’’) and placed first in Long Jump. VanZandt placed 2nd. For High Jump, Frederick placed 2nd and Welch placed 3rd. Faulkner has another great performance in Pole Vault, beating the school record she set in the last meet with a vault of 6’6’’. Coots and E. Shankland placed top two in the 3200m run. Clinton girls swept the 55m hurdles with McNatt, Brandvold, and Ureche placing top three. A. Bowles and Huggins placed 1st and 3rd in the 800m run, while McNatt and P. Shankland placed 2nd and 3rd in the 1600m run. For the 100m dash, Faulkner took 2nd, while Phillip took 3rd. Struck remains undefeated in the 400m run with Frederick placing 3rd. VanZandt takes a tough 2nd in the 70m dash, with Brandvold getting 2nd place points in the 200m hurdles. Ureche and Gregg place in the 200m dash. Madison swept all 4 relay events giving them the upper hand at the end. The girls had a great showing with some tough competition. They are back at it again Wednesday against Morenci.

The boys' track team lost a close meet, also. Losing 59-77 to Madison. Garrett Beazley (35' 4.5"), Logan Badge (33' 8.5") and Matt Johnson (30' 3") swept the shot put. The boys also swept the high jump with Nathan Smith (5'), Brennan Schnaidt (5') and Devon Curry (4' 8"). Zak Shadley (17' 2") was first in the long jump and Derek Tomalak (15' 6.5") was second. Kent McCombs (7' 6") was first in the pole vault. Also with second place finishes were Eric Neff (14:18) in the 3200m run, Devon Curry (9.9 seconds) in the 55m hurdles, Fabian Ramirez (5:51) in the 1600m run, Brennan Schnaidt (13.0 seconds) in the 100m dash and Carter Keith (33.1 seconds) in the 200m hurdles. Caden Zbikowski (1:07)placed third in the 400m dash and Shadley (26.2) placed second in the 200m dash. The 400m relay team of Shadley, McCombs, Schnaidt and Badge placed first in 51.2 seconds.
