The Clinton Middle School boys' and girls' track teams both had strong performances at the East Jackson Invitational. All individual competitors set season best or personal records in every event. Mykell Brodie placed first in the girls' shot put at 29' 4.5" and Kelly Bowles placed 6th and Eme Crysler was 7th. The boys shot put dominated the event. Garrett Beazley placed 2nd at 34' 10.5", Matthew Johnson was 3rd at 32' 5" and Logan Badge was 5th at 31' 11". Placing first in the pole vault was George Ames at 7' 6", Kent McCombs was 3rd at 7' and the girls were lead by Griffin Faulkner placing 4th at 5' 6". Zak Shadley placed 3rd in the boys' long jump at 16' 8" and Shaylin VanZandt was 5th for the girls at 13'. Ames and VanZandt also placed well in the 70m dash with 3rd and 4th places, respectively. Nate Smith was second in the high jump at 5' 2" and Brynn Frederick lead the girls placing 8th at 3' 8". The girls' sprinters were lead by PJ Gregg placing 9th in the 100m dash (15.4) and Mia Struck placing 4th in the 200m dash (32:03) and 2nd in the 400m dash (1:08). The boys' sprinters were lead by Brennan Schnaidt placing 7th in the 100m dash (14.02), Devon Curry placing 3rd in the 200m dash (30.7) and Zak Shadley placing 3rd in the 400m dash (1:02.04). In the 800m run, Dylan Bowles was 6th (2:54.6) for the boys and Samantha Coots was 3rd (2:52.1) for the girls. Paige Shanklin placed 4th in the girls' 1600m run (6:52.8), while for the boys, Fabian Ramirez placed 4th (6:01.5) and Caden Zbikowski was 6th (6:18.1). Eric Neff turned in his best time of the year in the 3200m run at 14:22 to placed 7th. Devon Curry placed 3rd in the boys' 55m hurdles (10.07) and Mackenzie Brandvold was 2nd for the girls (10.8). Brandvold also placed 3rd in the 200m hurdles (36.8) and Carter Keith was 4th for the boys (34.6).
