The Clinton men and women displayed some serious grit performing at the Hillsdale Invitational on Friday, April 30th against some very large schools such as Okemos and Adrian. Here are some of the results and awards:

Outstanding performances for the men include:

  • Grant Stockford taking 3rd in Men’s High Jump

  • Matt Johnson taking 3rd in Men’s Discus and 2nd in Men’s Shot Put

  • The 4x800 team of Hampel, Doty, Urbanczyk, and King for a blistering fast PR

 

Meet Awards:

Most Valuable: Matt Johnson in the throws

Most Improved: Ryan Doty for a massive PR in his 800m split of the 4x800 relay

Spirit of the Meet: Joe Gillman for overcoming all odds and racing in the 300m low hurdles

 

The Clinton women finished 4th out of 8 teams at the Hillsdale Invitational. Lena Korte once again dominated the throws by winning the shot put (35-7) and discus (103-9). Both performances were personal bests for Korte. Bri Underwood remained undefeated in the long jump, besting the field of seventeen. The 4x100 relay team of Griffin Faulkner, Underwood, Brynn Frederick, and Cassie McNatt took 1st place with a season best time of 53.87. The relay is currently ranked #7 in Division 3. McNatt followed up her relay performance with an individual win in the 300 hurdles. Alissa King continued to drop time in the 3200 meter run with a season best time of 13:18. 

Clinton travels to Hudson for an LCAA dual on Wednesday and then to Onsted for the Booster INV on Friday!
