The Clinton 7th grade girls volleyball team got back on the winning track as they defeated the Columbia Central Golden Eagles for their Pink Out Game. The Redwolves dropped the first set 25-27 then rallied back to win the second set 25-15 and final set 25-19.
Team Highlights
Ashlynn Benschoter led the Redwolves with 11 service points 8 aces 3 kills, 1 assist 1 dig.
Kylinn Long had 10 points 3 aces 4 kills, 2 assists 1 dig
Gabby Cordova had 8 points with 2 aces 3 kills
Emma Pask had 5 points 1 kill 1 dig
Bella Bannon had 3 points 1 kill
Abby Martinez had 2 points 3 assists
Rillie Shepherd had 1 point 1 ace 1 kill
Tianna Hernandez had 1 point 1 ace
Clinton raises their record to 7-3 in the LCAA and will participate in the Middle School LCAA tournament on Saturday at Dundee.
The Middle school volleyball team would like to thank the teachers and students of CMS for supporting their Cancer Awareness Game by wearing Pink on Wednesday. And a special shout out to Mr Regnier for volunteering on running the clock and for announcing our players at the game.
On Wednesday, October 20, the 8th Grade Volleyball team ended their season at home by defeating the Columbia Central Eagles with scores of 23-25, 25-21, and 25-20. Megan Hammarburg led the team in serving with 12 points and 7 aces. Other scorers included Lydia Ormsby with 6 points (3 aces), Gabbi Pearce with 5 points (4 aces), Finnley Faulkner with 4 points (1 ace), Jackie Whiting with 4 points, Korynn Allen with 3 points (2 aces), Lila Randall with 2 points (1 ace), and Annabell Preston and Brailey Gibson both contributed one point each.
Layana Culver, Lydia Ormsby, Mia Calucci, Lila Randall, and Genevieve Urban are all credited with excellent serve reception and defensive digs. Korynn Allen, Annabell Preseton, and Megan Hammarburg were responsible for setting up the offensive attack. Finnley Faulkner led the Redwolves' offensive attack with 3 kills. Morgan Hill contributed 2 kills and Layla Freeman, Annabelle Kerr, Tabitha Ureche, Gabbi Pearce, and Megan Whiting all recorded 1 kill apiece. The team ends their season with a 5-5 record in the LCAA.
