The Clinton 8th Grade Volleyball team defeated the Dundee Vikings on Wednesday,  October 7 with scores of 25-23,  25-14, and 22-25.   Kaylee Kranz was the lead scorer with 10 points and 6 aces.  Other scorers included Aby Freman with 8 points (5 aces), Raven Aldridge with 6 points (1 ace), Emma Halchishak with 6 points, Eden Frederick with 5 points (2 aces), Kam VanSickle with 4 points (2 aces), Ashlyn Lehman with four points (1 ace), McKenzie Pepper with 3 points, and Mieah Rodriguez with 1 point.  

The team struggled early on with serve reception and had to fight their way back from substantial deficits.  McKenzie Pepper is this week’s offensive player of the game.  McKenzie had numerous assists, saves, and good serves.  Eden Frederick is this week’s defensive player of the game.  Eden was quick on her feet and retrieved numerous shanked balls and missed blocks.  Aby Freeman is this week’s utility player of the game.  Aby plays all positions. She has great court awareness and reacts quickly to make plays.   

Clinton travels to Colombia Central on Monday, October 12th to face the Golden Eagles for the first time this season.   The team is currently 4-2 in the LCAA.
