The 8th Grade team hosted the Sand Creek Aggies last night and were clipped at the end by the score of 37-36. "Wow, wow, wow!!! That's all I can say. This team didn't quit last night. They were down 17 at the half and we talked at halftime that we need to just stay composed and keep attacking the rim and try and cut the lead in half in the 3rd quarter and then try and win it in the 4th quarter. We played a really great 2nd half tonight and obviously our defense in the 2nd half gave us an opportunity to earn a win, so I'm excited to see that area of our game continue to get better. We grabbed our first lead of the game (36-34) late in the 4th quarter with about 50 seconds to go. With a couple possessions from both teams, Sand Creek player hit a 3 pointer with Nate Page right in his face off of a broken play and the ball went in. That's basketball, the kid heaved it high over Nate's outstretched arm and it went in, what are you going to do. Well, we then called a time out looking for pressure or if they didn't. We got a good look at the rim for our last shot of the game with 6 seconds to go, but it bounced off the rim and that was it. The boys played hard tonight and I'm so proud of them, because of the growth and fun they are playing the game with. Scoring tonight for the Redskins were Teddy Pizio with 20 pts, Brandon Johnson 6pts, Nate Page 4 pts, Jacob Rothman 3 pts and Reed Patrick 2 pts. We have one more game on Wednesday at a tough Whiteford Bobcat team. We will work hard and see what happens." stated Coach Ramos
