In the first round of the MHSAA Football Playoffs the Clinton Redwolves defeated Dearborn Heights Robichaud on the road 41-6.   Clinton rushed for 382 yards on the night in a rain soaked mud bog of a game.  Sophomore Joey Preston carried the ball 21 times for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns on the night.  Bradyn Lehman carried to ball 13 times for 102 yards to break the century mark again to go along with two touchdowns of his own.  Jake Felts had 6 carries for 65 yards, Nik Shadley had 6 carries for 31 yards.  Derek Tomalak had two carries for 10 yards and a touchdown. Robichaud was held to 47 yards rushing and 102 yards passing on the night for only 149 yards of total offense.   Jonathan Baughey was 3 for 3 on P.A.T. attempts and did a tremendous job of ball placement when he was kicking off for us on the night.

Bradyn Lehman led the defense in tackles with 10 tackles, and four for a loss.  Lehman earned defensive player of the game for the Redwolves.  Matt Johnson, Brandon Felts, and Joey Preston all had a tackle for a loss, while Max Stitt and Ethan Herington had a sack a piece.   Jake Felts had a pass break up.   Ethan Herington and Max Stitt each forced a fumble.  Joey Preston recovered a fumble, while Coy Perry caused a fumble and recovered it.    The offensive line was blocking well and several earned pancake blocks on the night, Brandon Felts, Max Stitt, and Joey Preston all had 3, while Wyatt Hicks and Matt Johnson had 2 a piece, and Nate Smith had one.

This was a great road win in round one of the playoffs.  Now the team travels to Ida on Friday, Nov. 5th at 7pm for the MHSAA District Championship.  One of Clinton's losses this year was a 26-20 loss to Ida.  Ida is a well coached and physical team that creates a great challenge for our team and we are thankful for this opportunity.
