BLISSFIELD HIGH SCHOOL: 6

On Friday, Oct. 1st Clinton High School celebrated homecoming in a big way.  The week was full of spirit and excitement.  The varsity football team played an exceptional game on Friday and defeated Blissfield 63-6.   The team rushed for 565 yards on the night.  The offensive line did a tremendous job again this week in controlling the line of scrimmage.  That allowed our running backs to have big nights.  Our down field blocking was exceptional as well.  Our team effort showed throughout the entire night.  Derek Tomalak was 1 for 3 in passing with a 46 yard touchdown to Nick Shadley.  Joey Preston earned some tough yards, having 61 yards on 14 carries with 2 touchdowns.  But it was Preston's blocking and faking that stood out to the entire team.  Nik Shadley had 11 carries for 136 yards and a rushing touchdown, and Bradyn Lehman had 13 carries for 204 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns.  Sophomore Cole Breitenwischer saw some time in the 4th quarter and had two carries for 154 yards that both went for touchdowns.  On the night we had three backs with over 100 yards rushing.  Jon Baughey was 7 for 8 on P.A.T. attempts.  Baughey continues to boot the ball well on kickoffs and place the ball where we need it.  Defensive tackle leaders on the night were Bradyn Lehman and Ethan Herington.   Nate Smith came up with a great defensive performance as well from his outside linebacker position.  Andy Fair saw some time and collected an interception for the Redwolves.  Jake Felts came up big and caused a fumble that Max Stitt recovered.  Max Stitt had two sacks on the night and Brandon Felts had one sack.  There were multiple tackles for losses on the night, Bradyn Lehman had 4, Nate Smith had 3, Joey Preston had 1, and Max Stitt had one as well.

This weeks special awards went to:

Offensive Player of the Game - Max Stitt

Defensive Player of the Game - Nate Smith

Special Teams Player of the Game - Jake Felts

Red Army Player of the Week - Mason Brodie
