Clinton girls varsity basketball team lost a back and forth highly contested basketball game tonight 39 - 33. Both teams were fighting back and forth changing leads throughout the game. Summerfield to an 8 point lead only to see Clinton strike back with a run of their own to take the lead by 1 late in the fourth quarter. Missed shots caused Clinton to have to foul in order to get more offensive possessions. Summerfield made their free throws and Clinton was unable to close the gap ultimately falling in the end. Girls represented Clinton with hard work and intense defense throughout never giving up. Clinton was lead in scoring by Bri Underwood and Libbi Fair with 10 points each. Sam Renaldi added 6 points and another double digit rebounding effort with 11 rebounds. Freshman Brynn Frederick added 2 points and 9 rebounds in her first varsity start. Girls play at home this Friday vs Ann Arbor Central Academy.
