This game proved to be a thriller that went down to the wire with Clinton prevailing despite a miraculous full court shot from Sand Creek. Clinton got off to a hot start on both sides of the ball to start the game off.  High effort defense that forced fast breaks and hot shooting especially from 3 point land, led by Shaffner who shot 80% from the three point hitting 4 big three point shots. Campbell and Briggs both had 2 threes and Fortney and Burt connecting from beyond the arch. For only the second time this season, Clinton had 4 players in double digit scoring; Campbell 12, Briggs 10, Burt 15, and Shaffner 12.  Clinton played with the lead in the first half outscoring Sandcreek 33-26 going into halftime. This proved to be critical because Clinton was out scored in each of the remaining two quarters. Late in the 4th with 1 minute left on the clock in a tie ball game, Burt scores and put Clinton up 2, 60-58 after a back and forth 4th quarter. Biggs forces a big tie up with 1.6 seconds remaining in the game giving Clinton the possession.  Clinton inbounds the ball to Cruz who is fouled with .3 remaining on the clock. Cruz splits the foul shots putting Clinton up 61- 58. Sand Creek inbounds the ball near side and heaves and sinks a full court shot that seemingly ties the game. Upon further review the referees correctly waive off the shot as it is determined that there needs to be minimum of .4 seconds to catch and shoot to get a shot off in time. A roller coaster last second for both teams.   Clinton picks back up play away on Tuesday the 21st @7 vs a one loss Summerfield team.
