The Clinton men and women traveled to Ida on Tuesday, May 25th for the annual LCAA Championship Invitational. There were some outstanding performances on the men’s side, here are the highlights:

• LCAA Champion Gabe Nelson in the 3200m run

• LCAA Runner-Up 4x400R of Fortney, Urbanczyk, Hampel, and Zbikowski (PR)

• LCAA Runner-Up: Grant Stockford in the men’s high jump

• 100m: Stockford, 8th

• 200m: Stockford, 4th

• 800m: Urbanczyk, 5th (PR) and Hampel, 7th

• 1600m: Nelson, 4th and Neff, 8th

• 3200m: Nelson (CHAMP), King, 4th, and Neff 5th

• 110HH: Hampel, 7th (PR) and Peck, 8th (PR)

• 300IH: Peck, 7th (PR)

• 4x100: 4th, Urbanczyk, Scott, Shadley, and Stockford

• 4x200: 6th, Zbikowski, Scott, Faust, and Peck (PR)

• 4x800: 3rd, King, Urbanczyk, Gillman, and Hampel

• Shot Put: Johnson, 4th and Bowles, 6th

• Long Jump: Shadley, 9th

The coaches are very proud of the efforts that the team has placed during the regular season and the league meet during Clinton’s return to the LCAA!

The Clinton women finished 5th at the LCAA meet. Onsted easily won the meet and Hillsdale pulled away late to secure second place. Clinton, Dundee, and Ida battled for the third spot all day, with Ida and Dundee edging out Clinton. Lena Korte had a spectacular day for Clinton in the throwing events. Not only did she win both the shot put and discus, she also broke a few records. She broke the stadium records for both events and broke the LCAA meet record with her shot put of 37-5. Summer Chandler (high jump), Griffin Faulkner (pole vault) and Bri Underwood (long jump, 100) all took 3rd place finishes to make strong contributions to the Clinton team point total. The 4x100 relay team of Griffin Faulkner, Bri Underwood, Brynn Frederick, and Mia Struck claimed the silver medal with a strong performance.

Clinton will travel to Onsted on Tuesday for the Lenawee County Championships held at Onsted High School.
