The Clinton 8th Grade Volleyball team defeated the Blissfield Royals on Wednesday,  October 14 with scores of 25-7,  25-17, and 25-17.   Kaylee Kranz was the lead scorer with 16 points and 11 aces and 100% serving.  Other scorers included McKenzie Pepper with 8 points (2 aces), Kam VanSickle with 7 points (3 aces), Lauren Scheneman with 6 points (5 aces), Aby Freeman with 2 points (1 ace), Mieah Rodriguez with 2 points, Raven Aldridge with 2 points (1 ace), Ashlyn Lehman with 2 points (2 aces), and Kaylie Livingston and Emma Halchishak both with 1 point each.  

The team showed a significant improvement on serve reception and free balls from last week. This allowed more opportunities for the setters to get the ball to the hitters and record kills.  Ashlyn Lehman is this week’s offensive player of the game.  Ashlyn set numerous assists and had several saves at the net.   Raven Aldridge is this week’s defensive player of the game.  Raven played aggressive defense, had many great passes to the setter, and was consistent on the serving line.  Mieah Rodriguez is this week’s utility player of the game.  Mieah had a good all around game with her serves, passes, and attacks.  

Clinton travels to Ida on Monday, October 19th to face the Bluestreaks.   The team is currently 5-2 in the LCAA.
