Coming off a long layoff over winter break and battling team sickness, Clinton played an away game Tuesday night vs a scrappy Morenci team. Clinton came out a bit flat but managed to keep the score close most of the game. Junior Josh Shaffner had a sensational shooting night, shooting 71% from the field including 3, 3pointers, one of which came at the buzzer at the end of the first quarter that pulled Clinton within one. Shaffner and Fortney lead the team in scoring both racking up 13 points and combined had over half the teams points. Clinton came out of halftime looking to improve on its first half and did so in the 3rd quarter but just coming up short in the 4th losing to Morenci 48-39. The boys will be back in action at home Friday @7 to face Ida.
