Varsity Boy's Basketball dropped their season opener against Manchester by a score of 70-57. This was the first Varsity game for 12 of our 13 players. The team played hard and didn't quit, showing many positives to build on as the season progresses. We'll need to work on making key stops when needed to change momentum, but all-in-all it was a good showing. Steven Fortney led the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Davey Campbell and Tommy Burt each added 8 points. Rounding out the scoring was Josh Schaffner with 6, Gavin Scott with 4, Eric Briggs and Jacob Huddleston with 3 each, and Ridge Ahrens with 2. Tommy Burt and Eric Briggs also pulled down 4 rebounds each. Our home opener is Friday night against Blissfield -- please come out and cheer us on!
