Clinton Track & Field @ Adrian-Madison with Britton-Deerfield

The Varsity Track & Field program opened up league play with a solid performance with both the men and women defeating Britton-Deerfield, but losing to Madison. Leading the way for the women was co-captain Ali Elwart who won both the 800 and 1600 meter runs with times of 2:58.7 and 6:21.9 respectively. The 4x200 meter relay team of Megan Arntz, Chelsea Scheffler, Paige Studnicka and Lindsay Burton claimed 1st and improved their time to 2:00.6. The other first place finish was earned by the 4x400 meter relay team of Lena Korte, Bri Underwood, Lindsay Burton, and Tessia Struck who also ran for a PR of 4:35.4! Other good performances on the day were had by Emily Kirk discus 77-0, Alyssa Beach pole vault 6-0, Lindsay Burton long jump 15-2.5, the 4x100 relay team of Burton, Underwood, Struck and Studnicka 54.2 seconds, Mackenzie Brandvold hurdles, Makayla Fletcher 3200 meter run 14:14.3, Korte in the 400 meter run 1:09.4.

 

Highlighting the men’s team in the meet were Conner Brodie throwing a season personal record of 45’ in the shot-put throw and freshman Matt Johnson throwing a personal best and scoring a point in shot, Steven Posa claiming quality points in the discus throw,  Clay Langer winning the long jump at 21’5” and both Noah Deshano and Ryan Doty setting personal records in the event! Rounding out field events featured points being scored by Cooper Renaldi and Mike Meeks in the high jump as well as Brandon Beach in the pole vault. On the track we had some exceptional performances in all of the distance races with several points being scored from Gabe Nelson, Christian Minard, Matt Urbanczyk, Matt Devitto, and Nate Chavez. The sprint crew had a great day in the 100m, 200m, and both relays (4x100 and 4x200) setting personal bests and scoring points.

 

Next meet is the Dome Classic Invitational at East Jackson High School on 4/18/19.
