The JV girls earned their first win of the season Friday night, beating the visitors from BD by a final score of 30-18. This was also the first game that they outnumbered the players on the opposing team, 7-6. Leading 20-2 at halftime was a nice change of pace, as they had set a goal to get their highest point total of the season (previously 19). Good passing, timely steals and working on the fundamentals to get the open shots was the winning recipe. Chloe Houghton led the team with 8 points and 10 steals. Austyn Schuler also had 8 points, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Eliana Dotson scored  8 points to go with 10 rebounds. Kaylin Brown added 4 points. Davia Welch rounded out the scoring with 2 points and 6 rebounds. Emily Gilroy had a good game defensively, grabbing 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. Their next contest is a rescheduled game at Morenci on Monday night, tip at 5:30. They do not play on Tuesday, Whitmore Lake does not have a JV squad.
