QUINCY HIGH SCHOOL: 35
The Boy's Varsity Basketball team put on an impressive defensive show against 10th-ranked Quincy Wednesday night at home, holding Quincy to just 5 points in the 2nd quarter and 4 points in the 3rd quarter. This solid team defense, with everyone in the line-up contributing, earned the Redskins the 61-35 win. Coach Chavez was extremely proud of the night's effort and improvement on the defensive end -- we just need to use this momentum and continue the strong defensive play down the home stretch. Steven Fortney and Collin Stapnowski both had great nights offensively as well, with Fortney scoring 20 and Stapnowski 18, respectively. Other scorers were Mitchell Drabicki (10), Keegan Degner and Jared Lancaster (6 each) and Justin Felts (1).
