The Clinton Redskin Co-ed Varsity Track programs competed at the MHSAA D3 Regional in East Jackson on Saturday and the following performances were turned in. State qualifiers include Amanda Schaare (shot put/discus), Conner Brodie (shot put), Lucas Crumb (110 high hurdles), Clay Langer (long jump) and the 800m relay team of Alex Wylie, Noah DeShano, Colton Freeman and Trevor Underwood. Schaare was a regional champion in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet 7 inches as well as taking gold in the discus with a throw of 144 feet 6. She is the defending State Champion in the discus event. The boys 800m relay team also won gold and will represent the Redskins in the State finals. Brodie placed second in the shot put with a throw of 45 feet 9, Langer had a seasons best jump of 20 feet 2 and half inches in the long jump good for second and Crumb took home silver in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 15.58 to round out State qualifiers for Clinton. Other performances where athletes earned medals included the woman's 3200 relay team of Ashley Bouse, Ali Elwart, Alissa King and Chelsea Scheffler 7th with a time of 11:42, the men's 3200 relay team of Tyler Szczepanski, Christian Minard, Nate Chavez and Noah Smith 7th with a time of 9:01, the 400m relay team of Wylie, Langer, DeShano and Freeman 8th with a time of 46.5 and Trevor Underwood finished 8th with a time of 54.07 in the 400m. The girls team finished the day with 23 points good for 10th place out of 16 teams and the boy's accumulated 38 points good for an 8th place finish out of 17 teams. The teams will now compete at the TCC League meet Wednesday in Morenci.
