The Clinton JV soccer team had a hard fought match against Tecumseh on Saturday morning.  The Redwolves were outnumbered two to one on roster size, but that didn’t hold the Redwolves back from making it a competitive match.   It was a back and forth battle against Tecumseh for the first 30 minutes of the game.  There were goal scoring opportunities for both teams, with Michael Keller of Clinton making some remarkable saves at goalie during that time. Tecumseh ended up scoring first with seven minutes left in the first half.  Clinton quickly made it a 1-1 game as Brady Schanz took a pass from Lucas Stornant and scored from outside the 18 yard box.  The Redwolves battled throughout the second half, but Tecumseh ended up scoring two additional goals during the second half.   The game finished with a final score of 3-1.    

Michael Keller finished the game with fourteen saves.  Christopher Scholten and Jack Patterson battled hard to keep possession in the midfield, and helped to control the game.  At defense Owen Buckmaster, Mason VanMalsen, Elijah Koitz, and Marcus Smead all worked hard to contain an onslaught of attacks by Tecumseh.  Up top Damien Slick, Brady Schanz, and Emery Speth all put a lot of pressure on Tecumseh’s defense and goalie.  The JV squad looks to rebound on Monday as they take on Ida.

Clinton beat Blissfield 3-0.  The game took until the second half to score. Jim Schaffner scored on a PK with 26 minutes left in the half.  Angel Rubio and Lukas Stornant played the give and go with Stornant scoring the goal with 11 minutes left in the game.  On the flick from Ian Bacha to pass it to Lukas Stornant who passed the ball to Angel Rubio who scored the final goal of the night with 7 minutes left in the game.  Aiden Blom had 8 saves.  Transition was played well with Conor Lobenherz, Sam Quinatna, Broden Manchester, Angel Rubio, and Matthew Coughlin.  Eli Tuner, Trevor Aymen, Bryce Poley, Zeke Turner and Cole Hillegonds kept us on the attack.  Clinton plays Onsted Wedneday at 5:30 at Onsted.
