CoEd Varsity Track
The CHSTF men’s and women’s teams traveled to Dundee for our LCAA opener with Dundee and Ida on a very chilly and windy Monday evening. The men’s team rose to the occasion defeating Ida 67-56, but falling to Dundee 75-57. Outstanding performances include the CHSTF men’s distance team of Nelson, King, Urbanczyk, Neff, Gillman, Doty, and Hampel scoring many points in the 1600m and 3200m runs as well as strong performances in the 800m run and 4x800 relay. Grant Stockford dominated the field in the men’s high jump as the throwers commanded by Johnson, Bowles, Lakatos, and Couture had strong performances as well.
Clinton vs Ida
Ida defeated Clinton 71-62. Clinton’s field event crew dominated Ida 30-11 behind wins by Lena Korte (shot put, discus), Brynn Federick (high jump), Griffin Faulkner (pole vault), and Bri Underwood (long jump). Ida overcame the large deficit on the track, but it did not stop Clinton’s 4x100 (Bri Underwood, Griffin Falkner, Brynn Federick, and Mia Struck) and 4x200 (Lena Korte, Summer Chandler, Griffin Falkner, and Brynn Federick) from claiming victories.
Clinton vs Dundee
Dundee defeated Clinton 74-63. Clinton fared much better on the track against Dundee as Alissa King won both distance races (1600, 3200) and Cassie McNatt took the 800. In the sprints, Bri Underwood won the 100 and Brynn Federick broke the tape in the 200. As they did against Ida, both the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams raced to victory.
The CHSTF program will compete at home tomorrow with Hillsdale and Blissfield, please come out and support the teams!
