Boys Junior Varsity Basketball
Friday 2/28/2020 @ 5:30 PM(H) vs Whiteford MS/HS
|Clinton High School||59|
GAME SUMMARYSome nights are just different than others, and that was the case on Friday night for Clinton's Landon Busz and the rest of the Clinotn boys JV basketball team Friday night. Playing in their final home game of the season, and their final TCC game before switching over the LCAA next season, the Clnton JV basketball team wanted to leave their mark one last time. They did just that. The team came away with a 58-38 victory over the Bobcats, which was quite the turnaround from the 47-29 loss that happened back in late January over at Whiteford's gym. This win pushed the JV team's record to 8-10 overall and the team will finish 6-6 in the TCC. It was evident from the start that the Redskins were playing with a chip on their shoulder, with something to prove, or whatever other cliche you want to throw out there. Whatever it was, it was working. The team raced out to a 17-6 first quarter lead, and never looked back, winning each quarter for the 20 point victory. Landon Busz came out with the hot hand, scoring 18 of his game high 24 points in the first half. Busz's 24 points were extremely efficient as well, as he needed just 12 shot attempts to get there, while knocking down six three pointers on the night. While Busz finished with 24 points to lead the Redskins, Ethan Herington also finished in double figures with 11 points and a team high 11 rebounds. Lucas Riche followed up his 10 piont performance on Tuesday with 7 more points tonight. Kyle Wenk had 7 points, Keegan Huston 4 points, Jacob Gilson 3 points, Derek Tomalak 2 points, and Zach Kovach and Freddie Wade each finished with 1 point. The team will hit the road for the final week of the regular season. They will first take on East Jackson of the Cascade conference next Tuesday. The JV game is set to tip at 5:30 with the varsity game to follow at 7:00PM.
