Girls Middle School Volleyball vs. Multiple Opponents

The 7th grade volleyball team ended their season with a 3rd place finish at the LCAA Middle School volleyball tournament at Dundee High School.

The Redwolves battled the host school in the first round Clinton had a slow start, but were able to turn the game around and won 25-14 then 25-7.

The next round of play was the Clinton-Blissfield showdown to advance to the finals. During the season both schools split with each other. Blissfield dominated the first set 25-10. The Redwolves serving picked up during the second set along with their net play to chase down the Royals, but Blissfields serves were too much for the young Redwolves to handle. Clinton lost the set and the match. 

The final round was to fight for 3rd place against our league foe, the Ida Bluestreaks. Clinton dominated the match with awesome serving and great net play to defeat Ida 25-14 and 25-13.

Serving stats for the tournament 

Ashlynn Benschoter had 29 points 22 Aces.

Kaylin Sposite had 15 points 2 aces.

Kylinn Long had 11 points 3 aces.

Gabby Cordova had 10 points 4 aces.

Tianna Hernandez had 7 points 4 aces.

Emma Pask had 7 points 3 aces.

Bella Bannon and Abby Martinez both had 2 points each for the Redwolves.

Clinton  finished the season with a 9-4 record and a 3rd place finish in the LCAA tournament.

The 8th Grade Volleyball team traveled to Dundee on Saturday, October 23 for the LCAA tournament.  The Redwolves ended up 1-2 on the day.  They lost in 3 close sets to Hillsdale with scores of 25-17, 20-25 and 14-15.  They also lost in 3 close sets to Blissfield with scores of 24-25, 25-7 and 11-15.  The Redwolves regrouped and defeated Hudson in 3 sets with scores of 13-25, 25-18, and 15-13.  

Megan Hammarbug led the team in scoring with 46 points and 13 aces on the day.  Other scorers included Gabbi Pearce with 25 points (6 aces), Koryn Allen with 9 points (2 aces), Riley Roberts with 7 points (1 ace), Annabell Preston with 5 points (2 aces), Jackie Whiting with 4 points (1 ace), Lydia Ormsby with 3 points (1 ace), and Cora Harsh with 2 points.  

Megan Hammarburg, Korynn Allen, and Annabell Preston led the offense with many assists on the day.  Jackie Whiting registered 8 kills at the net to lead the Redwolves.  Gabbi Pearce had 4 kills, Brailey Gibson had 3 kills, Korynn Allen and Cora Harsh both had 2 kills, and Morgan Hill, Genevieve Urban, Megan Hammarburg, and Finnley Faulkner all contributed 1 kill apiece.
