The Clinton Redwolves Track and Field teams opened their season at home with the Redwolves Invitational on April 6. Eight schools participated in the event and each team competed well against strong competition.
The women finished 4th in a relatively close competition. First place medals were earned by the 4x100 team of Griffin Faulkner, Kiliann Connors, Brynn Frederick, and Katelyn Baker in a time of 55.79, and by Summer Chandler in the high jump at 4’-8”. Second place medals were earned by Griffin Faulkner in the 100m in a time of 14.24, Brynn Frederick in the 200m in a time of 29.32, Samantha Coots in the 400m in a time of 1:06.13, Katelyn Baker in the 100m hurdles in a time of 20.12, Maliah Piatt in the 300m hurdles in a time of 1:00.83 and Morgan Hill in the high jump also at a height of 4’-8” (a personal best height). Lila Randall (200m), Kaylie Livingston (discus), Izzy Szubielak (discus), and Mya Harris (long jump) also set personal bests in their events.
The men finished 3rd in their competition. First place medals were earned by Mason Brodie in the shot put with a personal best of 48’-1” and also in the discus with a personal best of 140’-10”, and Grant Stockford in the high jump at 5’-10”. Third place medals were earned by Grant Stockford in the 100m in a time of 12.33, Isaac Peck in the 110m hurdles in a time of 20.69, Reed Patrick in the 300m hurdles in a time of 49.06. Gabe Manchester joined the under 11 minute club in the 3200m with a personal best of 10:55.90. Eric Ramsey (400m), Austin Putnam (1600m), Trevor Lakatos (shot), John Gilroy (shot), Landon Maynard (discus), and Derek Hill (high jump) also set personal bests.
Our next meet will be on April 19th at Hillsdale High School for an LCAA tri-meet versus Hillsdale and Columbia Central.
